Tengku Nur Azura Binte Tuan Azman
Associate
Azura is an Associate at Chung Ting Fai & Co. She was admitted to the Singapore Bar in August 2024.
Her areas of practice include general dispute resolution through litigation, mediation, arbitration and commercial litigation as well as criminal defence. She is involved in a wide range of matters from contested probate matters, debt recovery, contractual disputes and family disputes.
Some notable cases that she has assisted in include:
- A successful appeal in the High Court where the court held in favour of her client in a family dispute matter relating to mental capacity in executing wills.
- A criminal defence matter involving a client facing drug trafficking charges under the Legal Assistance Scheme for Capital Offences (LASCO).
- A complex probate and property dispute matter in the Singapore Courts involving initially self-represented parties with an extensive litigation history with related cases dating back to 1999.
She is also experienced in assisting clients in non-contentious matters such as:
- Application for Deputyship under the Mental Capacity Act
- Certificate Issuer for Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)
- Application for Grant of Probate/Letter of Administration and Resealing of Foreign Grants
- Drafting of Wills and Deed of Family Arrangement
Azura is fluent in English and Malay, and is also conversational in Japanese.
She recently attended a month-long training course in Chongqing, China conducted by the China-ASEAN Legal Research Centre of the Southwest University of Political Science and Law in December 2024 on “Diversified Commercial Dispute Settlement Mechanism in “Belt & Road” Region and Countries” whereby she represented Singapore as a participant, alongside other participants from the ASEAN region and Nepal.
